Bonnie June Laughlin (1924-2011)

Bonnie June LAUGHLIN, daughter of Jesse W. LAUGHLIN (1887-1968) and Cora Belle FILTINGBERGER (1892-1973), was born on August 19, 1924 in Johnson County, Kansas. She attended schools at Stanley, Johnson County, Kansas, graduating from high school in 1942.

Bonnie married Francis WORLEY (1922- ) on September 2, 1942 in Cass County, Missouri. Francis was called up to the military in October 1942. He served until Dec. 1945 with the Headquarters Co. 3 Battalion, 383 Regiment, 96th Infantry, stationed at several places around the country.

On returning to civilian life, Francis worked at several jobs in Johnson Co., KS, and as Security Guard at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant near DeSoto, Kansas, and then for the U.S. Post Office in Lawrence, Johnson County, Kansas.

Bonnie and Francis had four sons, all living.

After retirement in 1985 Bonnie and Francis enjoyed summers in the parks around Lawrence. By 1991 they were living near DeSoto, Kansas, and traveling to New York and Texas to visit family, and their many grandchildren around home. Bonnie died in 2011.
